Ball bearing preload disc springs
Ball bearing disc springs are used to obtain the axial preload of the bearings for the compensation of the clearances, the attenuation of the noise and the protection of the bearing itself.

The characteristic of these springs is having a particular behaviour during the flattening: in fact in case of large variations of deflection correspond small variations of the applied load. With helical springs or with standard disc springs you can on the contrary obtain linear curves in which the variations of the applied load are clearly superior to equality of deflection.
